The Challenge
Restaurants needed an affordable, easy-to-use solution for creating and managing digital menus, especially after COVID-19 accelerated the shift away from physical menus. The challenge was to create a platform that non-technical restaurant owners could use while providing professional-looking results and QR code integration for contactless dining.
Our Solution
We developed Menuwave as a comprehensive SaaS platform using SvelteKit for the frontend and PocketBase as the backend. The platform features drag-and-drop menu builder, customizable themes and branding, automatic QR code generation, multi-language support, and real-time menu updates. We hosted it on Hetzner for cost-effective scaling and implemented PWA features for offline editing.
Results & Impact
Menuwave now serves over 200 restaurants across Slovakia and Czech Republic. Users report 90% reduction in menu update time, and restaurants have seen 35% increase in customer engagement with digital menus. The platform processes over 50,000 menu views monthly.
